Principal Fire Consultant/ Engineer

As a Principal Fire Consultant, you will be operating as a senior manager, expected to support, and lead as directed, in the successful delivery of high-quality fire consultancy work, as commissioned through Bellrock brands.

And as a Principal Fire Consultant with Bellrock you’ll do it by…

  • Overseeing the delivery of projects, providing, and maintaining a technically compliant service and high-quality deliverable.
  • Managing the day-to-day delivery of work for self and others
  • Developing key client accounts and be their professional and trusted point of contact for the client
  • Have a small sub team of consultants to provide mentoring support and quality peer review of work.
  • Act as the focal point for project engagements
  • Ensuring the successful delivery of the project(s).
  • Assisting in the creation and development of reporting outputs, survey methodologies and project management tasks.
  • Assisting in supporting sustainable service growth, statutory compliance and governance, client and staff retention, and development of our client base.
  • Supporting development of colleagues, where appropriate, so they have the skills and motivation to undertake their roles, including delivery of content at Fire Division CPD events.

What does it take?

If you’re ready to be the energy that helps us build our business, share our success, and really own it as a Principal Fire Consultant you’ll need…

  • Professional membership at Member level with a Fire related professional body
  • Sound knowledge of fire safety and fire risk, with a minimum of 5-years’ experience including demonstrable experience in developing fire strategies and fire risk management plans and experience of the RIBA stages beneficial
  • Fire Engineering degree or equivalent level 6 qualification (fire related)
  • Ability to undertake FRAEW under PAS9980 framework beneficial.
  • High degree of direction, self-reliance, assertiveness, passion and enthusiasm to succeed.
  • Creates new and imaginative approaches to work related issues. Identifies fresh approaches and shows a willingness to question traditional assumptions.
  • Personal motivation – enthusiastic and willing to improve, commits self to work hard towards goals.
  • Good understanding of business risk and opportunities, whilst interpreting business needs and championing decisive action.
  • Mentors and provides guidance to other consultant in supporting their development.
  • Displays strong planning, communication, and people skills together with a “hands-on” approach. 
  • Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, ability to influence diverse groups and engage both internally and externally; has passion and enthusiasm to succeed.

Working arrangements

We embrace smarter working practices which offer our employees the opportunity to work their hours flexibly and remotely where their roles and business needs allow. In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from home. Monday- Friday, 8:30am-5pm based on 37.5 hours per week.
