Job Description

Shift Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Mercury Shopping Centre, Romford

The successful post holder will be responsible for:

  • To undertake all tasks in line with H&S Guidelines and legislation.
  • To ensure that PPMs are carried out on time and in line with the agreed schedule and to ensure a quick response to the reactive problems communicated via the helpdesk.
  • Carrying out remedial mechanical and electrical repairs and minor installation work.
  • To carry out reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance when required.
  • Assistance with non-electrical and general maintenance tasks as required.
  • To coordinate and escort subcontractors when required.

Requirements:

  • 5 years post apprenticeship working experience.
  • City & Guilds 2360 parts 1 & 2 in electrical installation.
  • City & Guilds 2391, certification in Inspection and Testing. 
  • Knowledge of 18th edition wiring regulations.
  • Basic plumbing.
  • Must have previous working experience in a maintenance environment.
  • IOSH level of Health & Safety knowledge an advantage.
  • Operational knowledge of BMS, HVAC systems.
  • Additional knowledge of Fire and Detection Systems, Security Systems, Generators, UPS Systems, Gates and Barriers, air compressors and Lifts will be an advantage.
  • Have self-motivation and ability to manage time and priorities well.Anchor
  • Be able to partake in the out of hours call out.
  • PC literate, use of Microsoft word and Excel.
  • Operational experience in the use of a CAFM system.
  • Operational knowledge of Permit to Work system.
