And as a Commercial Director with Bellrock, you’ll do it by…

• Develop and own the commercial strategy for the Critical Engineering Division, ensuring alignment with Bellrock’s group objectives and growth targets.
• Lead the commercial governance and risk management of contracts, ensuring delivery against agreed KPIs, SLAs, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Oversee all commercial elements of major engineering, maintenance, and lifecycle projects, including pricing, bid governance, contract negotiation, and variations.
• Ensure effective cost control and margin management across a diverse portfolio of contracts, balancing profitability with exceptional service delivery.
• Collaborate with operational and technical leads to optimise building maintenance solutions, including predictive, planned, and reactive maintenance programmes.
• Drive commercial input into condition surveys, asset lifecycle planning, and building fabric projects, ensuring customers receive data-driven recommendations.
• Support the mobilisation of new contracts and the transformation of existing ones, embedding commercial best practice and innovation.
• Foster collaborative partnerships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure commercial objectives are met and sustained.
• Contribute to ESG strategies by aligning commercial plans with sustainability, energy efficiency, and Net Zero goals.
• Provide commercial leadership to the division’s management team, including mentoring and developing commercial managers and quantity surveyors.

What does it take?

• Senior commercial leadership experience in critical engineering, hard FM, or technical services, ideally in a large, complex organisation.
• Proven track record in managing multi-million-pound contracts and frameworks, with deep understanding of contract law, T&Cs, and risk.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in pricing, cost control, P&L responsibility, and margin improvement.
• Experience negotiating with public sector clients, private enterprises, and supply chain partners.
• Ability to interpret and apply building maintenance standards (e.g. SFG20, statutory inspections) in commercial frameworks.
• Strategic thinker with ability to balance commercial rigour with client-centric solutions.
• Excellent communication, influencing and relationship management skills.
