Field Supervisor
The Field Supervisor will spend approximately 20 percent of their time on line-management duties and spend the remaining time engaged in normal engineering activity. Managing up to eight engineers, this dual role combines leadership with hands-on involvement to ensure team performance, adherence to quality standards, and timely completion of tasks is realised. The Field Supervisor will serve as a liaison between Field-based management and the engineering team with the main aim of fostering a productive and collaborative working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Line Management Supervision
- Completion of personal development reviews (PDRs)
- Absence management & reporting.
- Engineer Timesheet checking and approval.
- Holiday approval.
- Return to work interviews.
- One to one check-ins.
- Set a high standard of work quality and productivity for the team.
- Act as an escalation point for technical queries and questions within your area of trade expertise.
Onboarding New Recruits
- Inductions.
- Onboarding / mentorship responsibilities for new engineers.
Apprenticeship Mentorship
- Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices.
- Participate in apprenticeship progress reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure portfolio evidence is of a high standard and learning opportunities are maximised.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to junior staff.
Compliance
- Inspect ongoing work to ensure it meets technical specifications and quality standards within your own area of expertise.
- Identify and address any defects or issues promptly.
- Ensure team adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and industry regulations.
Communication
- Carry out weekly communication cascades.
- Act as the main point of contact between field-based managers and engineers.
Documentation and Reporting
- Assist in ensuring all company electronic documentation including timesheets, risk assessments, worksheets and other forms of electronic data capture mechanisms are completed to a high standard. Provide support and training to ensure adherence to company procedures and processes.
Team Leadership
- Deliver toolbox talks when required.
- Ensure your team’s eLearning is completed within designated timescales.

- Supervisory Qualification or a commitment to participate in Bellrock’s CMI Level 3 Management Training programme.
