Cleaning Supervisor

To have direct responsibility for all cleaning staff whilst performing their duties during their shifts, reporting to the Facilities Manager. Responsible for service delivery on shift to ensure service elements are carried out to the required standards. Ensuring all cleaning materials are handled and used in the correct way, according to COSHH regulations. Also undertake daily cleaning duties.
And as a Cleaning Supervisor with Bellrock, you’ll do it by…
- Ensure that cleaning activities operate within all current legislation and customer policies with regards to safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities and that where appropriate staff are made aware of their responsibilities
- Attend any training, both statutory and mandatory, in line with Bellrock’s legal responsibilities
- Ensure equipment used is validated and is in a safe and working condition
- Ensure working areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner
- To ensure that all chemicals are locked away after use in the designated storage areas
- To ensure safe disposal of all refuse collected during the cleaning operations with due attention to the risks of fire and health and safety
- Identify and report potential safety and security issues
- Supervise, direct, allocate tasks and monitor the activities of the cleaning team to ensure that specified and correct standards of service are established and maintained
- Induction and training of cleaning staff
- Taking informal action where necessary (e.g. unauthorised absence); reporting incidents to the Facilities Manager
- Ensuring correct procedures are followed concerning HR policies and procedures
- Ensure all cleaning staff has correct and sufficient cleaning materials to achieve and deliver standards required
- Ensure all cleaning signs are placed correctly and colour coded equipment is used correctly
- Ensure all cleaners cupboards and equipment are kept to an acceptable standard
- Ensure spot checks are conducted daily and on selected areas, complete reports on these
- Ensure stocks of cleaning materials are checked and maintained
- Ensure cleaning equipment is well maintained and faults reported immediately
- To ensure correct and efficient use of all cleaning equipment, supplies and materials
- Locking of premises, facilities and grounds daily & setting alarms
