Application Manager

Leicester (Hybrid working)

Bellrock Group is searching for an experienced Application Manager, taking responsibility within the aligned BU for the development, implementation and management of applications that support both the operation and the strategy – whether they are division specific or from the Enterprise portfolio.

Working with the Application Management Team, IT peers and our Business Stakeholders to ensure that strategy is supported by existing technology (including adoption of and/or enhancement to) or enabled with structured assessment and acquisition of technology from the market - aligning with business needs, enhancing user experience, and driving digital transformation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to collaborate with Business and Technical stakeholders both individually and collaboratively.

Key responsibilities:

• Contribute to and execute application strategy and roadmap ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Oversee the full lifecycle of applications, from selection and implementation to maintenance and upgrades (including administration of the Application Catalogue)
• Collaborate with aligned business units to identify application needs and drive innovation
• Ensure the security, scalability, and efficiency of business applications
• Optimize system integrations to improve data flow and business processes
• Facilitate the modernization of legacy systems and adoption of new technologies
• Enforce defined application governance, policies, and best practices
• Liaise with vendors and assist with negotiation of contracts for third-party software solutions
• Monitor application performance and ensure high availability, reliability, and user satisfaction
• Stay updated on emerging trends in applications, cloud computing, and digital transformation

Skills & experience:

• 6+ years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a role managing applications
• Experience with cloud-based applications and SaaS solutions
• Knowledge of system integration, APIs, and data management
• Proven track record of positive contributions to digital transformation initiatives
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities
• The ability to combine knowledge of Infrastructure/Architecture, Project Delivery, Business Processes & data towards the management of applications
• Knowledge of IT governance, compliance, and security best practices
• Awareness of budgeting and the control of capital and operational cost
• Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Familiarity with AI, automation, and analytics tools
