Lead Insights Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Insights Analyst to join our growing Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will lead a team of Insight analysts and be responsible for leading the analysis of key business data to drive actionable insights and support decision-making across various business units. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to uncover trends, optimise costs and performance and enhance strategic planning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, statistical modelling, and business intelligence, as well as excellent communication skills to convey complex insights to non-technical stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentorship & Leadership: Lead a team of insight analysts, providing guidance, training, and development to ensure the team's success. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
  • Lead Data Analysis: Manage and execute complex data analysis projects across a variety of business functions to generate actionable insights.
  • Generate Insights: Translate raw data into business-relevant insights by identifying trends, patterns, and key drivers that influence performance and outcomes.
  • Strategic Decision Support: Collaborate with key business stakeholders to provide data-driven recommendations that inform business strategies and decisions.
  • Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Data Storytelling: Present complex data insights in an easily digestible, narrative format that resonates with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced Analytics: Apply advanced statistical methods and data models to forecast trends, conduct hypothesis testing, and improve business processes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between the analytics team and business units, ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals and expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation of reporting, and optimisation of analytical tools and methods.
  • Ensure Data Quality: Oversee the collection, cleaning, and validation of data from various sources to ensure accuracy and consistency for analysis


Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role. At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or mentorship position within an analytics team.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis functions).
  • Strong experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to create reports, dashboards, and visualisations.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis tools (R, Python, SAS, or similar).
  • Experience with data modelling, trend analysis, and statistical techniques.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and data integration processes.
  • Knowledge of data visualisation best practices and the ability to present data in a clear, engaging way.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct deep dives into data, uncover trends, and draw actionable insights.
  • Ability to balance analytical rigor with practical, business-oriented recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data analysis to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of analysts while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.
