Business Development Manager - Fire

Purpose of the role is to execution of the New Business and Cross-Sell strategy to drive commercial growth of the Consulting division with a focus of winning new logos, initially for Oakleaf and Nifes and focusing on fire services through building strategic relationships with existing and target clients. To develop high quality, commercially viable Building surveying solutions that are successful in winning new business. The role will be a combination of proactive sales methodologies, such as relationship building and prospecting, as well as reactive opportunity management through the completion of tenders and working with the existing bid team.

And as a Business Development Manager with Bellrock, you’ll do it by…

  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with target clients identified in new business strategy and client relationship model
  • Support existing strategic relationships, with a view to understanding needs and strategy and how cross-selling aid/strengthen relationships
  • Bring on focused new logos for Oakleaf and Nifes using data, CRM and market insights
  • Build and utilise existing cross business relationships to maximise cross selling opportunities
  • Meet with customers/clients face to face, Phone and via Teams
  • Design and develop, differentiated client value propositions and process solutions
  • Develop and and maintain a robust pipeline of leads and opportunities, capturing all activity and progress in the HubSpot CRM system to enable transparent analysis of business development performance and prioritisation of time and resources
  • Monthly Pipeline reporting and forecasting
  • Lead client sales meetings using knowledge and expertise of colleagues to effectively demonstrate capability and potential of Bellrock products/services
  • Lead negotiations and manage the deal-making process for bids, strategic partnerships, and other new business opportunities
  • Track and manage tenders through defined procurement timescales, responding to client information requests and coordinating contribution from internal stakeholders accordingly
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to support the sales process from initial contact, initial proposal strategy, bid development, through to mobilisation and initial performance
  • Maintain a deep knowledge understanding of the building surveying market and Bellrock consulting competitors, ensuring solution design is aligned with new technology and service delivery trends.

What does it take?

  • Proven experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or related roles, preferably in fire related services (FRA, HRB or Fire Consulting)
  • Strong track record of driving profitable revenue growth and achieving business targets
  • Background in M&E
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a keen eye for identifying market trends and opportunities
  • Exceptional negotiation and deal-making skills, with a demonstrated ability to structure and close complex business agreements
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and effectively manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to cold call working towards KPI
  • Proficiency in using CRM tools (Hubspot preferred), sales analytics software, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Flexibility to travel as required for client meetings, industry events, and other business development activities
  • Strong knowledge of Building surveying, M&E and Consultancy will be a distinct advantage
  • You are target driven with a proven track record in achieving sales targets
  • You enjoy working with external stakeholders of all levels
  • You have a client focused approach with the ability to identify client benefits
  • You take ownership, accountability and responsibility.
