- Actively lead the delivery of HRB Safety Cases for Oakleaf/ Bellrock Consulting
- Work with the Director of Fire and Business Development Team to develop and grow the Safety Case offering, and associated work streams, as the legislation evolves
- Take ownership for managing the P&L for this vertical of Business, including understanding the revenue and margin objectives, working as part of the SLT.
- Working collaboratively with other departments to nurture and plan projected work and ensure consultants are working productively and to the required technical standard
- Uphold, encourage and ensure the company culture and behaviours are always displayed and adhered to within the Consultancy Team and promote these across other teams.
- Lead in the effective management of the HRB team to deliver technical and commercial outcomes, within agreed timelines
- Where required act as the Lead Consultant on key HRB client commissions.
- Develop key client relationships through understanding their compliance needs and fostering effective Business relationships
- Contribute to the development of the fire consultancy brand in the marketplace through service excellence, expert knowledge, and client referral etc. Promote through social media where appropriate.
- Ensure the delivery of a professional and exceptional service to clients.
- Support sustainable service growth, statutory compliance and governance, client and staff retention, and development of our client base.
- Assist in growing the customer base and contributing to the production of fee proposals through direct requests.
- Work collaboratively with other people across the divisions to provide and present a seamless approach to client service delivery.

And as a HRB with Oakleaf, you’ll do it by…
- Support the growth of customer relationships with both existing and new clients through fully understanding their requirements and delivering technically excellent services to agreed deliverables.
- Manage day to day delivery of work via direct line team members, maintaining a high performing service
- Attend and contribute to SLT meetings and Fire Division CPD Meetings
- Support development of colleagues where appropriate so they have the skills and motivation to undertake their roles.
- Provide technical support and guidance on HRB/ fire safety matters to other departments where appropriate.

- Sound knowledge of Fire Safety Legislation and Building Regulations (notably the Building safety Act and emerging Regulations) and how it pertains to the Safety Case regime
- Good understanding of business risk (service delivery, PI insurance etc.)
- Mentors and provides guidance to other fire safety professionals in supporting their development
- Hold Degree or Level 6 equivalent qualification (Fire Engineering/Building Safety related)
- Hold Chartered membership with a professional body in Building/Fire, or working towards (eg: MCIOB, MCABE, CMIOSH)
- High degree of direction, self-reliance, assertiveness, and the ability to hit the ground running
- Prior experience of managing teams of technical professionals
- Interprets business needs and champions’ decisive action.
- Ability to challenge positively and debate confidently, based on qualifications, experience, expertise, knowledge, and personal attributes.
- Resolves difficult issues using appropriate conflict resolution techniques
- Strong planning, communication, and people skills together with a “hands-on” approach.
- Ability to influence diverse groups and engage both internally and externally.
- Displays an entrepreneurial approach to business, seeking opportunities for growth.
- Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Good negotiation skills based on technical, commercial, and financial acumen.
- Passion and enthusiasm to succeed.
- MIFireE or MCIOB (or working towards)
- A Level 6 qualification in fire/building safety related subject
- At least 5 years of experience in Building Safety Management
Working arrangements
