And as a BSA Principal Designer with Nifes, you’ll do it by…

• You will be providing expert advice on the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations. 

• You’ll have relevant knowledge and understanding of Building Safety Act 2022 and other relevant legislation, and you’ll be able to apply and implement those requirements at project level.  

• You’ll be planning, managing and monitoring design work by conducting plan checks and reviewing designs for compliance with Building Regulations.

• You’ll cooperate, coordinate and communicate with all duty holders to ensure the design work, if built, complies with building regulations.  

• You’ll be preparing written reports (e.g., End of Design Stage Reports) and maintaining Building Regulations Trackers. 

• You’ll liaise with the principal contractor and share any information relevant to the planning, management and monitoring of the building work, and the coordination of the building and design work so that it complies with all relevant requirements.  

• You’ll review and regard all comments from the principal contractor.  

• If requested, assist the client in providing information to other designers and contractors.  

• No more than 28 days after the end of their appointment, provide a document explaining the arrangement put in place to fulfil their duties.  

• You’ll be responsible for managing agreed fees, confirm invoicing, closing out appointments and supporting debtor control. 

• You’ll be responsible for exploring potential cross-sell opportunities across the wider Bellrock teams.
  

What does it take?

If you’re ready to be the energy that helps us build our business, share our success, and really own it as a BSA Principal Designer, you’ll need…

• You have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction industry with experience of Building Regulations, leading or reviewing designs. 
  

• You have excellent working knowledge and understanding of BSA 2022 and appropriate legislation. 

• You have a strong understanding of the design and construction process, with hands-on experience in inspecting buildings and properties. 

• You hold a degree in a construction-related field (design-focused preferred). 

• You ideally are a member of  RICS, CABE, CIOB, ARB, RIBA. 

• You have a full and clean driver’s license. 

• You will need a willingness to travel to varied sites across London, Home Counties, and the Southeast. 

• You will need to be well motivated 

• You will need to be a good communicator with interpersonal and organisational skills 

•    You’re a confident, clear, and articulate communicator with effective interpersonal skills with both clients, contractors, and colleagues in verbal and written format. 

•    You’re comfortable with working autonomously and managing your own workload effectively.
