Principal Consultant

As Principal Consultant you will be operating as a senior manager, expected to support, and Lead as directed, in the successful delivery of high-quality fire risk assessments, as commissioned through Bellrock brands.

At Principal level you support the Head of FRA in the delivery of the fire risk assessment Service whilst developing the team, individuals and Service offerings, and including upholding and ensuring Others abide to the company and professional bodies code of conduct and culture.

Within role, it is expected that Principal Consultants develop and mentor members of the fire risk assessment team, and other fire safety teams where needed, through the coordination and delivery of CPD activities, undertaking technical Quality Control (QC) peer review work for employee report submissions, and acting as a focal point for technical fire safety queries.

And as a Principal Consultant with Oakleaf, you’ll do it by…

  • Oversee the delivery of projects, providing and maintaining a technically compliant service and high quality deliverable.
  • Manage the day to day delivery of work for self and Others.
  • Act as the focal point for project engagements, assigning tasks to senior/fire risk assessors and managing the successful delivery of the project(s).
  • Assist in the creation and development of reporting outputs, survey methodologies and project management tasks.
  • Assist in supporting sustainable Service growth, statutory compliance and governance, client and staff retention, and development of our client base.
  • Management and coordination of resources to ensure effective utilisation of team members through the scheduling of workforce and reporting on performance, risks and opportunities to the Head of FRA.
  • Support development of colleagues, where appropriate, so they have the skills and motivation to undertake their roles; including delivery of content at Fire Division CPD events.

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including a good telephone manner ensuring client relationships are constantly met with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise workloads and manage working time effectively.
  • Maintain sound understanding of current legislation to advise clients accordingly.
  • Have strong report writing skills and a keen eye for attention to detail.
  • Good negotiation skills based on technical, commercial, and financial acumen.
  • Third party accredited as a fire risk assessor (either with IFSM – Tier 3, IFE, FRACs or similar)
  • Holds Level 4 Fire Safety qualification, preferably relating to fire risk assessment
  • Sound knowledge of fire safety and fire risk, with a minimum of 5-years experience.


Working arrangements

In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from home and working two days a week with the team and the rest of the week can be worked from home.
